Day 14: Prayer Life

I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer. (1Timothy 2:8)

Many of us have stories about the time we caught a glimpse of a celebrity—Erma Bombeck at the airport or Kim Kardashian at Target. Most of us will live our whole lives without any closer brush with fame, let alone royalty. But the King of Kings invites us to approach His throne any time, to place our confidence in Him and to hear His voice in response. We tend to take this invitation for granted, but as the hymn says, “What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer.” Prayer is an acknowledgement of God’s sovereignty and our need for Him. Prayer aligns our hearts with God’s will, bringing hope and peace.

Today's Prayer Guide:
* Pray that the men in our lives will pray without ceasing, engaging in an ongoing, two-way conversation with God.
* Pray that these men will be anxious for nothing but will pray about everything with thanksgiving, that the incomprehensible peace of God will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
* Pray that the men of our church will pray together and will intercede for one another before the Lord.
* Pray that the women of our church will remain committed to praying for the men in our lives beyond this 30-day initiative.
