No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

(1 Corinthians 10:13)
The Bible says temptation is common to everyone and that facing temptation is not a matter of “if” but “when.” We can be tempted by sex, pornography, drugs, alcohol, food, gambling, money, and possessions, among other things. Repeatedly yielding to temptation allows the evil one to establish a stronghold in one or more areas. Moreover, feeding our lusts often leads to destruction. The enemy knows where we are most vulnerable and will target our weakest areas. Prayer, both before and in the midst of temptation, is a powerful tool against the desires that cause us to sin.
* Pray that the men in our lives will recognize the way out when they are tempted and will view temptation as an opportunity to choose God’s way over earthly desires.
* Pray that temptation won’t lead our husbands, brothers, fathers, or sons toward actions with irreversible negative consequences. Pray that God will deliver them from temptation that has already led to destruction and that He will bring healing and restoration.
* Pray that each man in our church will confess his temptations to at least one other person, opening himself to prayer and accountability and loosening temptation’s grip by bringing it into the open.
* Pray that the women of our church will recognize where our husbands, brothers, fathers, and sons face temptation and will support them through intercession and with humility. Pray that we will grant forgiveness where it is needed and that we will confess and overcome our own temptations.
