Day 7: Friendships

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. (Proverbs 27:17)

It’s been said that everyone needs a Paul, a Barnabas, and a Timothy in his life—a mentor, a friend, and a disciple. Men need other men to encourage them, validate them, and keep them accountable. Yet men often don’t seek these relationships or know where to find them. Married couples need friendships with other married couples as well. Fellowship with another believing couple provides encouragement and perspective, particularly during times of difficulty.

Today's Prayer Guide:
* Pray for opportunities for the men in our church to partner with one another, sharpening and encouraging one another as they live out their faith.
* Pray that mentoring relationships will form among the men of our church, that more mature believers will make themselves available to God’s call and that younger believers will be teachable.
* Pray that married couples will enjoy fellowship with other married couples, strengthening their marriages and glorifying God.
* Pray that as women we will not manipulate our husbands, brothers, fathers, and sons to form friendships that we ordain but that in prayer we will trust God to bring about the friendships He desires.
